  Disturbing and peaceful and beautiful and gruesome. Has God abandoned man or has man forsaken God?
  I wish I would have gone into this film with a deeper understanding, and I hope to revisit it one day when I have achieved that. I agree with others that it could have been encompassed in a short film to maybe get Merhige's vision across in a more palatable format, but as I write this review with a still furrowed brow, I guarantee the contrasting images will not leave my mind any time soon.
