JJ is a master at setting up the mystery box, but is this movie perfect? Far from it. Are the women awfully written? Yes. Does it pass the bechdel test? God no. But is it an incredibly fun and interesting spin on the original series?
Very much so. Four stars. (One purely because Spock and Kirk‘s enemies to lovers arc.)

i don’t know what I was supposed to gain from this film. seriously. the visuals were amazing but the main character felt so empty. is it a critique of the rich? is it supposed to make you think about sexworkers and their precarity? probably both, but both falls flat due to the lack of connection the viewer has to anora
