  This is like a Mexican Great Gatsby in the way it explores tragic opulence and desire with a Luhrmann-like extravagance. This movie fucking rocks. All of the negative reviews actually make zero sense to me and I swear to GOD I checked my contrarianism at the door. I enjoyed every minute. Truly sorry y’all didn’t. There’s so much here, imo.   When she fingered the hole on his back I was like oh okay damn

  I almost gave this 3.5 stars but that felt disrespectful to the absolute BODYING of this role by LRD. She fucked it up. Kudos fr. Also some truly stunning visual moments, even if the whole thing felt a bit flighty and jumbled at times
