To start, this movie was easily the best I’ve seen in theaters this year. Cinematography throughout was top tier. Took a fantastically compelling plot and managed to insert action throughout that consistently exceeded expectations. Highlights in my mind were the gladiator scene on the Harkonnen planet, the atomic warheads getting launched at the Emperor’s army and the whole scene once Paul confronted the Emperor (props to Christopher Walken) till Austin Butler got shanked. Bravo will definitely be watching again

I don’t often take to Letterboxd to write reviews but felt compelled to after watching this one. I actually love a well made romcom and this one fit the bill. Never took itself too seriously, had genuinely funny delivery of lines and the chemistry between Powell and Sweeney was palpable. Bottom line is that as the movie drew to a close I had a smile painted across my face. At the end of the day, what’s more important in entertainment than that?

Emotionally gripping from beginning to end. Affleck gave as real and authentic of a portrayal of PTSD as I’ve ever seen. Made you just want to give the guy a hug. This is the type of movie that sits in your head for a while once you see it. Requires some extra rumination to let it out of your mind. Job well done by Lonergan on directing a top notch film I won’t soon forget.

Takes a classic throwaway line from Kerry Condon’s ‘Siobhan’ and makes a masterpiece of a movie about it. Cinematography was breathtaking. Found myself looking at AirBnB’s off the coast of Ireland by the end of it. Colin Farrell doesn’t disappoint. The connection of Colm asserting that if there are Banshees on Inisherin they don’t bother howling to warn of deaths any more but that they might just stand by to watch people pass away and the character of Mrs McCormick sitting on the chair watching Pádraic and Colm’s friendship die was not lost on me. Enjoyable watch, would recommend.
