Ahhh yes, the good old relatable depression trope times two. This is either a "oof, ja feel" or a "I didn't get it" type film depending on your own personal trauma, so I expect it may be middling for some. But boy oh boy did it work for me 😭

A surprisingly decent Christmas film with heart and some solid performances by the leads. Much more musical than I first anticipated, but the songs felt well-written and were enjoyable. I don’t know that it makes my yearly Christmas watchlist, but I’m glad I watched it this year!

It seems that everyone wanted me to hate this movie, but I just couldn’t. It’s deeply riddled with thematic imagery and dug its roots into me. The heft of the themes coupled with the grotesque and confusing chaos of the film itself paired well to create a truly mystical experience.
