Beautiful dedication to Pua and it has a great range of emotional tones. I love to see Samoans leading in the NZ filmmaking industry. Anapela was amazing.
But to me the film lacked steez. I just watched Rites of Courage by Miki Magasiva and it’s cool asf I wish he had taken some more creative risks in this film but evidently this type of story is exactly what sells to a generic audience.

I actually had a good laugh throughout my viewing!..Because I kept remembering how funny the original Mean Girls scenes were.
This was, in many ways, a disaster. You really can’t do this movie with Gen Z- I felt like the whole production team knew that too, Give me a chance to make the Gen Alpha version Mean Girls redemption in 20 years tho plss I’d do it right- I will cast North West as Regina George and I promise not to take out Janice’s ‘lesbian crush’ line, because I’m an ally🤷‍♀️tffff
