Subtle changes to the novel, albeit due to the budget clearly, kind of hurt this miniseries. Lots just falls off with no explanation.

This was my introduction to Indian cinema and WHAT an intro at that.
There are several themes in this film that are very apparent and beautifully executed in their own respects. These, of course, being the themes of family, brotherhood, sacrifice, betrayal, the effects of colonialism in India and most importantly: the power of song and dance.
The level of action is one that I honestly have never seen before in my entire life - something that is missing greatly…
As far as style goes, thus film knocks it out of the park. The 4:3 aspect ratio was mint, and the greyscale was great. Lots of sharp blacks, whites and greys.
The casting of Ana de Armas as Monroe was the best decision they could’ve made. She looks strikingly similar, and at times sounds identical to the real Marilyn Monroe. However, there are some moments where her native accent comes out, causing Monroe to sound oddly… Russian?
