    Average film. Yet, there were quite a few scenes I enjoyed. And I enjoyed those scenes not entirely because they were funny, but because some were touching and emotionally satisfying.

    A weak film, but Ultraman here was super cool and not at all lame. I didn't know Shin Ultraman was a part of a trilogy, dubbed the "Shin Trilogy". I wonder if watching the trilogy will make me re-evaluate this film. Moments of sexualization were unexpected. Makes one wonder: is Ultraman sexy?

    Richard Linklater's modus operandi is once again established early on in the film, despite the hypnotic animation that seems to be deeply metaphorical, but also very open to most likely everybody's speculations.
