  A feverish hurtle through New York, with Adam Sandler's adrenaline-fueled Howard Ratner for company. Few films have made me feel this anxious - an anxiety not only achieved through the frantic plot, but excellently crafted with the cinematography, editing and beautifully ominous music. The dread I felt for Howard extended into the real world as I slowly recognized his absolute devotion to personal success not as an unique character trait, but as a reflection of a sick societal attitude. Fingers crossed we end up better off than Howard after this game reaches an end.
