A brilliant exploration of themes of loneliness, melancholy, and depressive behaviour. Maria explores sympathetically the troubled life of someone dealing with physical, mental and historic trauma.
It does so in a way that doesn't demean the main character, but in a way that shines a light on her achievements and struggles so that we may appreciate her and her great fortitude/ strength of character through it all.
Much better than “Spencer” (though Spencer was very good). Not as hard hitting…
