Jesse Plemons might be the best fit for the YCU (Yorgos Cinematic Universe) yet. The grandma next to me DID NOT know what she was in store for.

    “We’re always talking about tennis”

Luca Guadagnino and Sayombhu Mukdeeprom offer a perspective from inside a tennis arena that allows viewers to imagine anything within that space. You are in the grandstands, in the first row, in the umpire chair, the scoreboard, above the court, below the court, the court; you’re the racket, you’re the net, you’re the player, you’re the opponent, you’re the fucking ball. You are tennis.

A24 and cult movies. What a lovely couple.

Unfortunately plays out as Midsommar lite with very little to say apart from some nice photography, a wacky dance number, and John Malkovich joking about his bulge

Sexy, high stakes short story with palpable chemistry from Fassbender and Blanchett? I’m in. Marisa Abela a notable standout from this ensemble, really selling the playfulness. I want to start a petition to have Michael Fassbender play a spy forever

Steven Soderbergh is 2/2 with endings in 2025

Miller hits the breaks on the action packed style of Fury Road and lets his characters breathe and have purpose, all while still bringing high octane guzzoline-filled set pieces.

It’s tough hearing this score next to Fury Road’s, given its predecessors’ thrilling strings and loud drums. I kept waiting for a big moment that didn’t come, but for good reason. Furiosa delivers its anti-war, campy revenge tale in a much more subdued manner. and that made me realize these two movies shouldn’t be compared to one another, but used to prop each other 🆙

Someone lock up Rictus fr wtf bro
