Brexit: The Uncivil War 2019
A fun and engaging watch. The director’s portrayal of key figures in the Leave campaign, such as Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage, was highly entertaining. It’s impossible to watch this without drawing comparisons to the U.S. presidential race. The film reinforces two crucial ideas: first, that humans are not purely rational actors and are more influenced by emotions than by cold, hard facts; and second, that alienating, ridiculing, or ignoring a large segment of society can cost you an election—or even two.
