High Life 2018
Terrible. Among the worst movies I’ve seen. Dialogue was uninteresting. Plot only hinged on a tenuous sci-fi concept (potentially interesting) but never really went anywhere. Characters were all flat and not engaging. Pace was terribly plodding. Everyone even moved slowly. So much more could have been done to develop the characters, who they were, what they did, how they evolved. So much more could have been done to put tension around the scientific mission. Instead we get distracted by an odd focus on pseudo-erotic sexual interactions (masturbation and rape, both male and female) that had a nurse porn vibe.
