Just excellent. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Very romantic.
The script, the cast, the style, all great. Marisa Abela was my MVP (Industry fans winning!)
This movie truly relies on how luminous Sridevi is on screen (2.5 of these stars are for her) because the rest of it doesn’t quite land for me. Rohit is not a compelling romantic hero, as with his obsession and possession, he offers nothing to Chandni in terms of real love. While charismatic as a man in love, I don’t think that Rishi Kapoor’s acting is at par with the dramatic material he was given (his moment of physical frustration…
Plotwise, the film isn’t particularly groundbreaking, but I really enjoyed the structure, with intercutting the traditional storytelling and the satirization of true crime through the mockumentary. Nicole Kidman is spectacular, particularly when talking directly to the camera.
Also I can’t believe that all of this happened within the first year of their marriage.
