Very pleasantly surprised that I wasn't annoyed to death by this. Not a musical person so the songs didn't do anything for me but there is some clever character writing here and most of the comedic bits definitely land. Visuals are so-so but not worse than your average action blockbuster.

Fantastic screenplay, incredible ensemble. So, so impressed by Maura Delpero introducing 10+ characters from the very start, making you invested in each one of their stories by the first hour, and resolving them in such a satisfying way by the second. Many beautiful and memorable shots in here, too.

Man, I really expected to love this. Incredible directorial feat but so difficult to connect with on a personal level. In theory, the POV style should be a very effective way to tell this story but paired with the stiff dialogue it's just too alienating. Brandon Wilson is a standout, hope we'll see more of him.

Hoped throughout that this would never end, and that's ultimatley its biggest drawback. Sets up so many intriguing threads and characters and is then forced to tie all of them together in one silly little heist sequence and the contrived plot twist. David Simon at its best, Collet-Serra at its worst. Very well directed obviously, but I do wish McQueen made this a miniseries instead.
