This movie had my attention the entire time. I don’t think I’ve seen anything that encapsulates a child’s world, while also showing the struggles of parents. Their ability to find fun, joy, and friendship living in a less than ideal scenario was warming. That along side the stark contrast of knowing parents were doing everything they could to just keep their kids safe and in their blissfully ignorant world. It was heartbreaking, heartwarming and funny all at the same time.

Nickel Boys 2024
Great storytelling and especially one that’s important as our own nation is experiencing roll backs of protections and desire to erase racial experiences. I wanted to like this, but I just couldn’t get past the first person storytelling.
