The Godfather Part III 1990
If this movie was re-worked as a stand-alone that had nothing to do with The Godfather, it’d be a pretty alright movie. However, the shoes it has to fill either part 3 or as ‘Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone’ sets this thing up for failure from the get-go.
For context, this movie apparently has two versions which contain slightly different sequences of events and endings. I didn’t watch Part 3 I watched ‘Coda’ as mentioned above.

The Godfather Part II 1974
A sequel that takes what made the original great and either improves it or builds upon it.
This entry in the series has an advantage over Part 1 because it doesn’t require as much time to establish the setting, circumstances and characters. Consequently, the pacing is great throughout the entire movie - 3 & 1/2 hours just sort of flew by.
There are so many good things to be said about this movie that I don’t want begin to write about…

The Godfather 1972
Can’t believe it took me this long to watch this film. Thought it was fantastic. Performances from Brando and Pacino were brilliant. Watching the evolution of Michael Corleone from beginning to end was incredible. When the film ended I was only left wanting more. They should really consider making a sequel.
Gave 4.5/5 rather than 5/5 just because it is an incredibly long film. 2h 55m could be considered excessive in any case, even classic films/masterpieces.
