A more complex protagonist than the original but in the end just makes it more muddled than it needed to be. Fun fight scenes though, just could have done without the CGI baboons because they looked awful. Overall very watchable thanks to some great performances.

Gladiator 2000
A fun time, if predictable. Some great action scenes and some not so great ones - it suffers sometimes from shaky cam and too much chaos, as well as dreadful low FPS slow-mo. A shame that scenes that were staged and produced so well were put together so poorly.

The Wild Robot 2024
I was an uncontrollable, sobbing wreck for most of this movie, as it dealt very maturely and with ridiculous emotional impact with its grown-up themes.
I just wish it carried on with that same delicacy for the last act, where it seems to remember that it needs to be a modern animated movie for children too, and much of the intimacy gets lost in action and optimistically utopian vibes.
Viewers should also beware of a particularly flippant approach to animal death that it has early on, unusual for a film like this.
