  there’s an undeniable spectacle in the roughness of Anora that you almost mistake it for authenticity, but who is sean baker to tell this story? Anora feels more for consumption than for representation. maybe that’s not the point because either way it gets people to pay attention (or that’s exactly the point, still, the intent feels so empty, shallow at most)
