  A very pretty movie. Scenery, colours, costumes, the interior design of places. Pause at any moment and the frame would be beautiful. I liked the camerawork too - details like how they shot Freddie’s hand when Tom was striving to bring him downstairs.

  So many people compare this to Minghella’s adaptation, understandably. Imo the two movies portray the directors’ personal interpretations of Highsmith’s book, and there’s not necessarily an inherent wrong vs correct interpretation, especially considering the different media employed.…
