beautiful, haunting, and somehow hopeful.
what a fantastically unique and interesting film, that tells a story from a perspective of memory rather than a structured narrative. i was captivated in each and every frame, and even though i tried to play out what the end might be as it approached, i was utterly broken by how it finished. it is such a powerful tool make the audience see and live the story from within it, when they are almost always restricted to observing from the outside. what a perfect way to truly empathize with characters whose stereotypes have preceded their own existences.
