This film never fails to impress me. I've said it before but when religion mixes with politics/crime in such a well structured manner, it becomes poetic and such an interesting experience that really shows the faults and depths of humanity.
also Al Pacino as the devil? yeah, that makes perfect sense.
How does a film that explores topics of pure torture, depression and hatred look so beautiful? idk, Ask the directors of All About Lily Chou-Chou.

Even the Rain is a film that follows 2 directors that go to Bolivia to shoot a movie about Cristopher Columbus and the exploitation of Indigenous peoples for gold, casting locals into the film. Ironically enough, the directors exploit the locals in their own way by not paying them enough for their work on set.
The movie presents a link between that of Columbus and modern-day exploitation, showing the greed and corruption…
