Park Chan-wook's "The Handmaiden" excellently showcases eroticism in its ugly and beautiful fashion. It manages to lock your eyes into the screen as it deceives you through its nonlinear timeline and multiple uses of point-of-view. It slowly unravels the cunningness of its star-crossed lovers, Sook-hee and Hideko.
Honestly, I have never been more impressed with a film's attention to detail on its dialogue, set design, and scene composition. Korean cinema does not disappoint!
