  I had a legitimate spiritual attack the next day after watching this. There is nothing— nothing— edifying about this film.

  I love horror movies. Hereditary and the Lighthouse are incredible, two of my all time favorites. I love the indie style. I love the shock value. I love the depressing ending sometimes. 

  But I also love an, um *good* message. What the hell was the message to this film. 

  10/10 for the filmmaking. It’s wonderfully made in a purely artistic sense. 0/10 for the film as a whole. If that doesn’t make sense that’s fine. It’s just how it is. Don’t fucking watch this.
