  Rewatched La La Land for the nth time.

  I never understood how a movie with such a heartbreaking ending can be anyone's comfort film, but here we are. The more I rewatch it, the more I fall in love with it, and the more it climbs up my list of all-time favorites. It’s been eight years, and I’m still salty it didn’t win Best Picture.

  Once Upon a Time in Hollywood definitely isn't a crucial story begging to be told. Instead, it is a film where plot takes a back seat and the impressive sequences take over. It was a fun experience with some delightful craft, but it's also fair to say that the actual narrative did the film a disservice for what it could have been.

  Forget all the tiresome subtextual takes about this film and enjoy it for what it is—a meandering glimpse at a time in Hollywood.
