Astounding how far you can stretch the premise of "Viktor Tsoi is cool as hell" to become a whole movie. That opening sequence is absolutely iconic. I still have Звезда по имени Солнце from the opening stuck in my head.

Like Inherent Vice, but comprehensible and funny. The Gosling-Crowe duo ("there are no two angrier birds"-Crowe) are electric and funnier than you'd expect. Some sequences feel a bit drawn out and parts of the script could benefit from a little more trimming, but otherwise it's a hit. Gotta give some props also to 13 year old Angourie Rice who magnificently holds her own against the more established actors.
