Nonstop thrill ride... probably the most exciting Alien movie since Aliens, bogged down by more than a few questionable creative decisions and weak characters. However, this movie shines in key areas that prevent me from hating it. Don't expect a traditional Alien movie, this is a horror flick that comes with all the drawbacks and benefits of that fate. My heart was pounding frequently enough with terror and excitement to forget the fan service, CGI reanimation, and theme park plot,…

Completely surreal and hilarious odyssey through Los Angeles, functions on the strength of it's dialogue and characters. Appears aimless at first but once you let it take you on it's ride, you will quickly understand it's brilliance, and why it's a beloved cult classic.

Meditative, precise, atmospheric, patient. I can't figure out if this is one of my favorite David Fincher films or just very good one. A unique way to tell a familiar type of hitman story, more about the hitman and his habits than the narrative. Fincher and company are as per usual at their best, every shot is calculated, washed with mood, completely immersive. This is what made the film work for me, however I'm not sure if the entire package works well enough to be a great film. An art house action thriller, not for everyone.
