My 4th or 5th watch. This one resonates with me in a way I can't entirely fulfill through text.

All six stories culminate together into something that I find to be the essence of humanity, life, death, & afterlife.

Romanticizing tragedy in a way that is not at all edgy or overtly morose. It does a wonderful job at displaying the human understanding of The End, displaying beauty and horror. All of this beginning with a few wonderful Looney-Tunes esque legends that lull you into things.

    Six perfectly executed campfire stories.

I always enjoy movies that are centered in reality while still maintaining that fantastic sense of wonder.

I love seeing people stuck in a scenario while being able to say myself "hmmm, how would I react".
Many monster/action movies run straight to rockets, nukes, energy weapons, etc. etc. This stays in the realm of reality in a way that I love whilst still including plenty of ballistic fun.

This film has wonderful horror imagery, the first and last evolution of Godzilla are wonderfully scarring.
The last shot of this film will stay in my mind for a very long time, a staple in horror.

    Eerie, legitimately beautiful nature footage.

The fictional Dr. Hellstrom shares his beliefs on which species shall inherit the earth.

He doesn't sound at all crazy.

This movie is both decadent and sterile at once.
Jeremy Irons has so much chemistry with Jeremy Irons, they should work together more often.
