  For a film with such intriguing subject matter, there is a lingering sense of detachment to the characters. Not sure about the romanticisation of certain traumatic/interpersonal relationship either. With a 2h runtime and it's use of flashback/forward, it renders confusion rather than intrigue and could have definitely been employed more intentionally.

  Ahh indulge me while I reminisce the good old day at cannes.

  For a film that centers more around plot than story, it has really endearing moments with touches of empathy and comedy. Many things aren't explored/explained and it really uses the landscape and objective cinematography to display themes of love, friendship and guilt/vengeance. Yet, it's pace and editing is something that could have been definitely tightened. You might not necessarily feel for the characters in the conventional way but that is brilliance in itself.

  An amalgamation of many things but this film proves that execution can triumph even the simplest of stories (even flawed ones).
