While known more widely for its moments of intense brutality, 'Bone Tomahawk' takes its time to sit in the more human moments between the main cast and develops a world of harsh greys. I went in expecting either more viscera or a grander epic, but I was pleasantly surprised by the smaller scale of this story.

Insidious 2010
While a little lackluster in the story and “lore,” Insidious is a well directed and (mostly) well acted first entry into yet another James Wan horror franchise. The scares aren’t for everyone, but its a modern horror classic of the 2010’s that I’m glad to have rewatched. If anything, watch for Patrick Wilson.

Nosferatu 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Bill Skarsgard, Lily Rose Depp, and Thomas Hoult give quite possibly their best performances to date in this remake of the 1920’s silent horror classic. Robert Eggers’ writing and directing made this story his own. The oppressive atmosphere and natural lighting brought this dreary 1830’s world to life. As of now I’ve only seen one other movie from Eggers, The Lighthouse (which has a career best performance by Willem Dafoe), but both that and Nosferatu are 5/5 for me.
