  Good move, Good acting. Learned after watching the movie, Robin Williams was offered to play Callaghan’s role, but passed away. Glad to see Joaquin Phoenix acting again. He is a great actor.

  Reading other reviews of younger generation, I realize this movie can be 2 stars if you are not familiar with Bart. Bart was huge, symbolic in the 70’s and 80’s. We have strong memories  of him as a movie star whether you liked him or not. Seeing him aged and acting, actually acting is special. Rather than him counting on his good looks when he was young.

  The main actress was good. The ending was somewhat weak. Appreciation for parents would set in a lot later like 40’s for young people in my opinion. Not sure why it got nominated for academy.

  Not reading the plot prior to viewing the movie, so many unexpected scenes. They found the perfect actress for the role. Very unique, artistic, great music. The fish man looked just like the creature from the black lagoon😂
