The blackface scene is the worst part of this movie. If you find it offensive, I understand. However, I don't. The scene is simply not good. It's not entertaining and almost feels like it was thrown in because minstrel routines were popular back then.

I don't know much about dancing but even I could see that Vera-Ellen was crazy talented.
This film is so much fun! Is it perfect? Nah. I love sci-fi and horror though so it gets a boost for that. I think Ben Foster does a good job, I'd like to see him in more. Quaid does his thing. After them the acting really falls off but they get the job done.
