Egerton really broke out his typecasting with this role, & definitely should have got more recognition for it - just the teen choice award nomination??
Classic tropes & cliches with the washed up coach / unsupportive working class dad / bullied by private schoolers etc but didn’t stop me crying when mum said ‘where you been then? / Been at the Olympics mum’
Heartbreakingly beautiful story, not surprised this is what brought Anderson back to acting. Really enjoyed Bautista & Shipka’s performances. Surprise Schwartzman cameo very good. The Miley Cyrus song is just perfect.

Knew in these modern remakes that the OG cast make cameos but this was actually more than a 1 sec shot, Idina doing her note included, them looking at their successors, so much emotion held
Jonathan oozed charisma as only he can do. The sets & effects were brilliant, was completely immersed, cried 3x
