I watched this for the first time. December 2024. Baby’s first ‘The Holiday’ viewing. My GOD I’M A MESS.
Stacked cast doing the most to say the least. Also hello Jack Black?!?!
Jude Law single-handedly made me believe magic is real. Him in glasses? Made me think that anything in this world can happen if we let it.
10/10 this is becoming a staple watch. Felt like a warm hug.
ms Glinda said “let us be glad let us be grateful” and we say to that A FREAKIN MEN. SCREAMING FROM THE ROOFTOPS THAT THIS. IS. A. CINEMATIC. MASTERPIECE. AND. DESERVES. ALL. THE. ACCOLADES. IT. RECEIVED. AND. KEEPS. RECEIVING. Also, to whomever talked SMACK behind our girl Ari’s back, I expect a personalized written apology in personalized stationery. Her and ms Erivo?!?! DIVAAAAAS.
The passion this film exudes is insane. I love watching people love what they do.
also Jonathan Bailey is my crack. Thank u.
I don’t know what I was expecting going into viewing this. I think this made the viewing even better because not knowing even the direction it was heading in was thrilling. I appreciate a plot line that isn’t glaringly obvious to its consumers, and this definitely gave that. Great commentary also on the machine that is society and the ideology of always pursuing your “best” self, no matter what the cost.
This was a super random watch lol. A lot of it sat in the land of predictability, the little moments of comedy were nice reprieve from a movie that we felt took itself a little too seriously at points. Would be interesting to see this as a little more comedic, black comedy, cathartic stuff. However, the symbolic analogy of domestic violence was not lost on me. It’s never comfy watching something unfold that you unfortunately know occurs day in and day out. Art imitates life and so on… Sophie Thatcher was brilliant.
