The easiest way to hook me into any movie is with nonlinear storytelling and the very early reveal that the beginning is the end AND also a NEW beginning was brilliant. We know from the start that the thing Joel is fighting for the entire film—to not forget Clementine—is doomed to fail, and yet we also know that they’ll find their way back to each other anyway.
