  Updating my review because I didn’t know how to articulate my thoughts while first watching it but after sitting with this movie for a few days I think what bugs me most is that the surrealism of the movie distorts and is equated with the violent realism of slavery that is also included and I’m wondering how an uneducated audience is supposed to recognize the difference between them

  I was pretending Daisy Edgar Jones was my friend Aurora who’s from Oklahoma. Also shoutout to ashley for pointing out the 2 second Brokeback Mountain allusion. Also “of course I found the dog” made me see the Glenn Powell light for a second for some reason
