Skyfall 2012
If there was 6 stars I would give it that. Exciting, thrilling, intriguing, this is the to me the best of the Bond films. Despite its incredible soundtrack, it’s amazing cast, stunts and of course Bardem as the villain makes this within my top ten movies. We get to see Bonds softer side with a crying scene which is surprising but a risk well taken on behalf of the writers

Schindler's List 1993
Spielberg’s characterization was incredible in this film. It grappled with intense emotions that transcend what comparable films of this genre cultivate. Neeson’s character is a benevolent force in a world where that is so rare, it was enjoyable as an audience member to be able to root for someone. The ending exemplifies how guilt can overcome a person even as good as Schindler

The Pianist 2002
An excellent film. I’ve never seen a WWII film set in Poland, so this realistic in a way that few films of this genre are. Adrien Brody’s portrayal of a jewish person who is battling loneliness, starvation and losing his entire family is disturbing in a unique way. The only thing I found surprising was the choice to make the Nazi seem compassionate to Brody’s character, despite what the reality of at least the great majority of Nazis were like.
