Wow. Robert Eggers is my favorite modern director & I love every single one of his films. Even with all the high expectations I had for this movie & for him, he STILL managed to surpass my high hopes. An absolutely breathtaking visual gothic horror masterpiece. Robert Eggers found his sweet spot… feels like an excellent mix of The Witch aesthetics mixed with the grand scope of The Northman, while using the classic tale of both Nosferatu & Bram Stokers Dracula. Lily Rose-Depp deserves all the awards for her incredible performance here & the physicality she demonstrated. A instant modern gothic horror classic.

When I first saw the trailer for “Cuckoo” I had high hopes… & while there are definitely things about this movie I enjoyed, ultimately it ended up feeling a bit messy. “Cuckoo” is a high concept horror w/ some ideas that work & others that don’t (but probably could have had they been executed better). Hunter Schafer is one of the standouts here, she does an excellent job portraying Gretchen, who moves to the German Alps w/ her father, stepmother & younger stepsister…

“Subservience” is essentially like M3GAN, but for adults with a way sexier/hotter storyline. And I’m not even going to lie & act like the main reason I didn’t watch this movie was to see Michele Morrone (from the ‘365 Days’ Netflix movies)… that man is 🥵!! Essentially the story revolves around a father who buys a lifelike AI android (Megan Fox) to help around the house, since his wife became sick. Suddenly the android develops a mind of her own & wants…

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

    ★★★★

Part 4 is among the very best in the Friday The 13th franchise. Although titled ‘The Final Chapter’… it obviously was far from the last of these movies. This movie picks up directly where Part 3 left off, with Jason’s body being brought to the morgue. However he quickly awakens & resumes his killing spree. The films strengths lie in its strong characters, memorable kills, & good pacing. Not only do we follow the stereotypical group of horny teenagers, but we also…
