  Love Catherine Deneuve, but I couldn't get behind this film. While the costume and set design was nothing short of fabulous, it lacked real character depth and plot. While the film is visually stunning, taking you through a 60's France and interesting camera work, the overall story was dull. The ending left much to be explained not up to interpretation, which made it feel rushed. I do think I will try to read the 1928 book this film is based once and rewatch, but for now, this is one of my least favorite films.
