Bound 1996
This one had been on my to-watch list for forever and I’m glad I got around to watching it.
The Wachowskis can be a little inconsistent and 90s lesbian neo-noir sounds like it could be a dated trope fest, so I went in with a little trepidation.

A Y.M.O. Film: Propaganda 1984
Postmodernism is off the charts with this one. YMO satirize their own stardom, the concept of stardom itself, 1980s excess, and Japan’s 20th century history, all in 90ish minutes, while giving you stunning music videos of their hits.
There’s so many great moments here that it’s hard to know where to begin, but the bit where they perform “Ballet” from 1981’s “BGM” LP might be a high mark.
