Waves 2019
I think this movie had more layers than it intended to but I believe that is just my overthinking. Through and through this was a movie about family trauma and everyone making the same mistakes but on different levels and finally someone breaking the curse. I still feel Tyler received the short end of the stick and his story was so quickly over looked. But in the end this was a beautiful story on how the idea of excellence especially for black people can make us become the people America has sold us we do not what to become.
