i'm glad this was my first lav diaz even though it took me a full month to finish. definitely something i'd look back on and keep in my references.
it carries so much within its long takes, feigning emptiness through black and white. so much shame and despair and greed manifests into different, even mundane, things. a lot of pondering. i missed pondering. i missed watching films that induced pondering.
might be a while until i pick up another lav diaz film but i am looking forward to!
