This one infuriated me to no avail. This is the pinnacle of Laika's flaws with storytelling. Cookie cutter videogame like scavenger hunt where you just KNOW whats gonna happen next. Not only a snoozefest but also the tropes are so on your face, and the acting of these fake characters is so bad. Bad bad bad bad

Just got back from a screaming match at the theaters with my friend who didnt quite like this film as much as I did
Ghibli is truly the only good high budget animation studio bc its the only one that will prioritize the director over the audience.
Film gets lost in its own world sometimes and some stuff is superfluous but the angel is on the details when it comes to the films theme and core story.
Tldr more boy less heron. This movie is def one of my ghibli faves. Also evil parakeets, wonderful
