They fucked up when they let a couple of sensitive white boys bust it down shakespearean style in GTA Online.

I have more thoughts than I care to write down here. It’s really good. It’s hilariously funny at times, very touching at others. Sometimes it gets a little bogged down in trying to tell a curated story when what I was really here for was the abundance of emergent narrative that thankfully made up the bulk of it. I think video games and theatre go very well together.

More epic legitness jackie chan buster keaton style choreo fight scenes. epic legitness super-90s interior decorating. comically bad delivery of dialogue, compounded with silly australian accents pairs quite nicely. It's really high tension throughout, which is almost exhausting. Stopped watching before the very end because it seemed like there was no more choreo.

added a half-star after the fact because movies full of jackie chan fight scenes always deserve at least that much

Certain parts of this are well done, but there are enough infuriating creative choices and logical missteps as to throw the integrity of the entire narrative into question.

Fantastic straight-ahead self-contained sci-fi story that hits all the marks. The car factory fight scene is pretty silly but hey, what are you gonna do. I love the look of the technology and computers. The hand gestures for controlling the computers is pretty silly but at least it’s fun, and that’s a healthy side effect of making big aesthetic swings in speculative fiction.
