while this movie is insanely quotable, only watching it once every few years allows one the time to forget all of the genuine hilarity wedged between each seamless delivery of “oh my god, i’m totally buggin’!” effortlessly fun. a young and yearning paul rudd certainly doesn’t hurt either

young matt damon and ben affleck stun with their impeccable screenplay, acting prowesses, rich onscreen chemistry, over-the-top boston accents, and boyishly gorgeous charm. everything in this movie is so goddamn deliberate, and it somehow delivers all it has (and more) without unwarranted arrogance or disingenuousness. in addition to the film’s heartfelt and satisfying ending, I will be thinking about ben affleck’s final scene until the day i drift from this mortal plane. even after, i will likely continue to cry…

jerry seinfeld ironically made the campiest movie of all time and it is nothing short of a pleasure to sit up in your chair, gawk, and gasp the whole time you’re watching this film. an absolute masterclass of everything not to do in a serious movie, and instead a delicious bowl of slop that always lingers in the back of your throat, like the forgotten name of a long lost lover, incomparable, indescribable. i would recommend everyone to watch this movie, except that would mean it wouldn’t exist solely for me and my friends anymore.
