Denouement in the limo hit me like a punch in the gut.

Feels questionable to have a mystery storyline, set in a specific time period with real historical characters, and then introduce technology that’s actually magical and doesn’t exist in reality as a crucial plot point. Despite that, I still figured everything out about 2/3 of the way through, so the big reveal at the end felt very belabored.

The film’s thesis is what? Murderers kill because they have troubled pasts and/or brain damage? Well, duh. Delving more into the moral quandaries that entails when it comes to punishment might have been interesting.
Or is it that many serial killers have dissociative identity disorder, which is definitely a real and salient thing? If so, they should have provided more evidence for it, instead of just implying that jurors were mean for not believing the kindly…
