Fantastic film. My kind of strange sci-fi with depressingly grounded themes over a rather heartwarming core. Sometimes the political notes were a little heavy handed, and I fear the people this film is making fun of won't notice that they're the butt of the joke no matter how loudly you scream it in their face. Clever costuming details, interesting cinematography, and incredible acting wrap this whole film up in a neat, weird package.

Getting through this movie was like pulling teeth. All of the characters we cared about from Aliens are dead, and Ripley is infuriatingly incompetent and secretive for absolutely no reason. The only character I even cared about in this movie other than her was Clemens and he is killed off for no particular reason. Worst of all, it's not scary. There's no suspense. It's boring and predictable, and overall disappointing. Can't even recommend it as a fun-bad movie, it's just bad.
