The atmosphere and pacing is like peeking into somebody's dream, or nightmare. I love so many things about this film except one thing. The ending. Leaves you with no catharsis.

La La Land 2016
I've seen this one a few times and it still holds up for me after multiple rewatches. It's interesting hearing the decisive reactions from my friends. Some love it. Some hate it. The way I see it, it achieved what it set out to do. A self aware homage to classic Hollywood as well as a tale about chasing your dreams vs living your reality with a purposefully melancholic end. Also Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone is always a plus. Good Job, Damien Chezelle.
