A mid review for mid movie.
Storyline lacking, songs forgettable, characters were flat, the conflict was weakly arranged, and the problem solving was uninspiring.
Moana would be in for a treat if the next people she meets are colonizing her islands lmao. Make it with some R rated gore and i might give it a watch.
I'm disappointed they've left the ending open for a threequel. Disney really does their best at milking their products to death. But, I guess the people continue to suckle the teat.
Felt like I just watched a whole lotta nothin. Aside from the misogyny of your usual 90s rom coms, the camera work is playful, the lighting in scenes is enigmatic, and the quirky editing is pretty awesome. Paired with the fuzzy 90s aesthetic of film, the film itself is pretty on the eyes. Additionally the wardrobes are fun, but also enchanting in their own way when coupled with the on screen performance of a bubbly Julia Roberts.
