One of the first films I saw in a theater. My rating and "like" is based on my memory of what seven-year old me thought.

The 300 Spartans 1962
Perhaps the first films I saw in a theater, because I wanted to see the Disney live-action film (The Legend of Lobo) with which it was double-billed. Even seven-year old me knew this wasn't a well made movie, but still has a sentimental place in my thoughts.

Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol 1962
As an eight-year old, I saw and enjoyed this. For more years after that than I want to admit, I thought this was the original version of The Christmas Carol and was confused as to why so many movies and TV shows were ripping off Mr. Magoo. On rewatch, I still like the movie and now appreciate the Broadway style songs.

Pickup on South Street 1953
Ignore the red scare induced “commie threat” that is a key part of the story. Instead concentrate on the good direction, cinematography, and smart dialogue, along with a fairly cynical and violent view of life. Entertaining film, with solid performances from the supporting cast and the leads of Widmark, Peters, and Ritter.
